Acceptable Use Policy

Appifywiz – Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

Effective date: 01 Sep 2025

This AUP applies to all software and services provided by Appifywiz Ltd.—including Appifywiz automation add‑ons for Jira®/Confluence® and the MergeVision add‑on for Bitbucket® (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services you agree to follow these rules. Capitalised terms not defined here have the meanings in our Terms of Service.

1. Prohibited Content & Activities

You must not use the Services to:

  • Break the law — publish or transmit content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or that encourages violence or terrorism.
  • Infringe intellectual‑property rights — share content you do not own or have permission to use (software, text, images, music, video).
  • Distribute malware or conduct security attacks — including viruses, ransomware, phishing, brute‑force, port scanning, DoS/DDoS, or attempts to bypass security controls.
  • Send spam or unsolicited messages — bulk or commercial messages to recipients who have not expressly consented (including in‑product notifications, comments, or email).
  • Exploit or interfere with the Services — use automation that materially degrades Atlassian Forge/Connect performance for other tenants, or that violates Atlassian’s published rate‑limit guidance.
  • Violate privacy or collect sensitive data — harvest personal data without consent, track children under 16, or process special‑category data (health, biometric, etc.).
  • Scrape, benchmark, or attempt to replicate the Services — including automated extraction of output for the purpose of competitive analysis or building a competing product.
  • Operate in sanctioned regions or for prohibited parties — use the Services in violation of U.S./EU/UK/Israeli export controls or sanctions.
  • Promote self‑harm, hate, or violent extremist ideology.

2. Resource Limits & Fair Use

Because our add‑ons run on Atlassian’s infrastructure, they are subject to Atlassian quotas. We may rate‑limit, throttle, or require plan upgrades if your usage:

– Consistently triggers Atlassian HTTP 429 “rate‑limit” responses for a workspace; or

– Processes more than 10,000 Forge events per workspace per hour; or

– Generates log volume > 500 MB per workspace per day in Forge/Connect logs; or

– Otherwise threatens platform stability or security.

3. Enforcement

  • Investigation — We may monitor usage and investigate suspected violations.
  • Progressive action — For minor issues we’ll request that you correct the problem. Severe or repeated violations may result in immediate suspension or termination of your Subscription, without SLA credits.
  • Legal disclosure — We may disclose information to law enforcement when required by law or to protect rights, property, or safety.

4. Reporting Violations

Report suspected abuse to [email protected] with as much detail as possible (URLs, headers, log snippets). We target a response to verified abuse reports within 48 hours.

5. Changes to this AUP

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be posted at least 30 days before they become effective. Continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
